RIZZOLI & ISLES CANCELLED – TO END AFTER SEASON SEVEN

The upcoming seventh season of the Rizzoli & Isles will be its last.

The show, which ranks as the Turner-owned cable network’s second-most-watched series ever, behind only The Closer, will return in the summer for an abbreviated 13-episode season.

The decision to end Rizzoli & Isles comes as TNT is plotting a new and edgier direction with series including Animal Kingdom, Good Behavior and the newly ordered Tales From the Crypt horror block.

TNT also cancelled Public Morals, Agent X and Legends recently.

Mooky advisory – the fifth season of ‘Major Crimes’ could be the last as it will take it close to the number needed for syndication.

TNT passed on the Jon Tenney starring ‘Major Crimes’ spin off S.O.B.(Special Operations Bureau) so you’ll understand why I said TNT appears to be moving away from police procedurals in an earlier Twitter post.

‘The Last Ship’ ‘Murder In The First’ & ‘The Librarians’ are the last shows from the previous TNT era.
