TV Ratings – Monday 21 September 2015

The Big Bang Theory CBS 4.7 18.2 – Down 15% from last years premiere (5.5) only off 3% in total viewers. RENEWED FOR SEASON 10.

The Voice NBC 3.5 12.4 -The highest rated reality series. Guaranteed renewal.

Blindspot NBC 3.1 10.6 – Great start. 88% retention of ‘The Voice’ rating and 85% of viewership. ‘The Blacklist’ S2 was in this slot for the 1st few weeks of last season and scored 12.3 million viewers so a drop there but no problem, still early but should renew.

Life in Pieces CBS 2.6 11.3 – Soft debut. Only 55% rating from ‘Big Bang Theory’. Will know more next ep but only 50/50 chance at moment IMO. Update CBS has issued a release saying ‘Life In Pieces’ is the most watched comedy premiere on a Monday since 2011 with ‘2 Broke Girls’ which has proved it can survive without the lead of the networks biggest show. It’s when the show loses ‘The Big Bang’ lead in, ‘The Millers’ & ‘The Crazy Ones’, they struggle and where are those shows now?

Dancing With the Stars ABC 1.8 11.5 – Guaranteed renewal.

Gotham FOX 1.6 4.5 – Down a massive 52% from last yrs prem (3.3). Will have more of an idea next ep.

NCIS: Los Angeles CBS 1.2 7.9 – Down 37% from last seasons 1.9 opener. Not good. Makes CBS syndication dollars so 50/50 network call.

Castle ABC 1.2 6.8 – This is the first ever show I made a prediction on back in 2011. Down 45% from season 7’s premiere (2.2). Contract negotiations for Stana Katic (Kate Beckett) went down the wire in May. On these numbers this will probably be Castle’s last season IMO.
One more thing. ‘Forever’ was in this year exactly 1 year ago with a 1.7 rating and that was cancelled.

Minority Report FOX 1.1 3.1 – Lowest rated show on the big four networks last night. ‘Sleepy Hollow’ scored a 2.0 rating last season in the same time slot. ‘Minority Report’ is likely to be cancelled IMO.

Penn & Teller: Fool Us CW 0.3 1.1
Significant Mother CW 0.1 0.5 – Schedule fillers until The CW launches their fall schedule in earnest next month.
