‘ICYMI’ ‘IN CASE YOU MISSED IT’ OR ‘ICIMI’ ‘IN CASE I MISSED IT’ – STUFF FROM THE LAST WEEK OR SO

‘ICYMI’ ‘IN CASE YOU MISSED IT’ OR ‘ICIMI’ ‘IN CASE I MISSED IT’

STUFF FROM THE LAST WEEK OR SO

SKY 1 in the UK has picked up the rights for CBS’s summer drama ‘ZOO‘.
In the U.S. ‘Zoo’ has been the most watched scripted summer show on TV even surpassing ‘Under The Dome’. I’ve been calling ‘Zoo’ for a renewal from week 1 and SKY picking up the show can only help enhance it’s prospects.

Here’s some news from the FX Network:
‘THE STRAIN’ RENEWED BY FX FOR SEASON THREE

The Bastard Executioner debuts on Tuesday September 15th at 10pm
American Horror Story: Hotel premieres on Wednesday October 7th at 10/9c .
Fargo S2 will launch on Monday October 12th at 10/9c.

The first season of Ryan Murphy’s new anthology series American Crime Story (subtitled The People Vs. O.J. Simpson) is expected to premiere on FX in the “first half of 2016″.

FOX has announced they’re interested in bringing back Prison Break as a 10 episode limited event series in the same vein as 24: Live Another Day and the upcoming X-Files revival.

Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller would reprise their original roles if ‘Prison Break’ is picked up. OK, Miller’s character was killed off in the companion DVD movie ‘The Final Break’ but don’t let that fact get in the way of a good plot, they’ll act like it never happened.

On the subject of ’24’ FOX is looking at a total reboot of one of my all time favorite shows and made it clear from the start; Kiefer Sutherland will not be in it. Manny Cotto and Evan Katz the original series writers are working on a script and Howard ‘Homeland’ & ‘Tyrant’ Gordon will also return to supervise the project.

Empire creator Lee Daniels is developing another music drama for FOX simply entitled ‘Star’. Three young women try to make it in the cut-throat world of the music scene and the battle to get to the top.

Bones and Sleepy Hollow will crossover on October 29th. In the Bones episode, the grisly discovery of human remains lead Brennan and Booth on a hunt for clues, during which they encounter Ichabod Crane and Abbie Mills, who team up to solve the mystery. On the Sleepy Hollow episode Ichabod and Abbie need advanced forensic help and expertise to stop Icahbod’s old nemesis and turn to Brennan and Booth to unlock 18th century secrets using 21st century science.

Finally Jon Stewart bowed out on of run on Comedy Central’s Daily Show Thursday with a 1 hour series finale.
3.5 million viewers tuned in. Stephen Colbert hit the nail on the head with one word ‘Clarity’ in his tribute to Stewart. Bruce Springteen plays out the show with ‘Born To Run’.
Thanks Jon for 16 plus great years.

Here’s the final Daily Show episode in low res. The sound is slightly
out of sync but watchable.

The Daily Show With Jon Stewart – Last Show (Final Show) – 8/6/2015

Enjoy your weekend.
