‘ICYMI’ ‘IN CASE YOU MISSED IT’ OR ‘ICIMI’ ‘IN CASE I MISSED IT’ – STUFF FROM THE LAST WEEK OR SO

ICYMI’ OR ‘ICIMI’ ‘IN CASE I MISSED IT’  – STUFF FROM THE LAST WEEK OR SO

OK, new feature, a round up of stuff from this week that I might have covered – or not, so lets go.

‘Aquarius’ Has Been Renewed – Will It Stay That Way?

If you’re a fan of NBC’s ‘Aquarius’ or ‘Hannibal’ you might be aware that the first show was already renewed, the second was cancelled. The kick is, the ratings for both shows are so low, NBC has shifted both progs off to the TV equivalent of purgatory, Saturday evenings. It wouldn’t shock me if ‘Aquarius’ doesn’t return or if it does comes back, it’ll have a drastically reduced schedule next season.

‘Xena: Warrior Princess’ Reboot in the Works at NBC (The Hollywood Reporter)
Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that NBC and NBC Universal International are prepping a reboot of the beloved Lucy Lawless action-adventure drama. The drama is in the extremely early development stages and a search for a writer is currently underway. Original executive producers Rob Tapert and Sam Raimi are also involved in the project, which is considered to be a “modern reboot.” It’s unclear what, if any, role original star Lawless would have, though sources tell THR that insiders would like the original star to have both a role onscreen and behind the scenes. The drama is eyed for 2016. It’s too early to know if Xena 2.0 would be a limited 13-episode run similar to Fox’s revived 24 or a more standard full-season order. Insiders say the hope is for the new Xena to be an ongoing (read: renewable) series.

ZOO’ Is The Number One Scripted (New Episodes) Show On The Big Networks
I’ve called a renewal from week 1. If a CBS show is canned, ‘Extant’ is looking the most likely.

‘The Brink’ Renewed By HBO For Season 2

Not doing too badly with cable calls, only ‘True Detective’ to go and all 3 HBO Sunday night scripteds should re-up.

New TV Land Sitcoms ‘Gaffigan’ & ‘Impastor’ should be renewed if numbers hold up.

NEW TV LAND SERIES “THE JIM GAFFIGAN SHOW” SCORES WITH 3.2 MILLION GROSS TOTAL VIEWERS ON TV LAND, NICK AT NITE AND COMEDY CENTRAL IN LIVE+3
“Impastor” Attracts Gross Audience of 1.7 Million Total Viewers Live+3

Syfy has acquired the U.S. rights to Wynonna Earp

With an initial order of 13 one-hour episodes, Wynonna Earp is a fast-paced, contemporary thriller that follows Wyatt Earp’s great granddaughter as she battles demons and other supernatural beings. Wynonna is a witty and wild modern day gunslinger, using her unique abilities and a dysfunctional posse of allies to bring the paranormal to justice. The series is scheduled to premiere in April 2016.

‘DAVINCI’S DEMONS’ CANCELLED BY STARZ – SEASON THREE FROM OCTOBER 24 WILL BE THE LAST

‘THE COMEDIANS’ CANCELLED BY FX AFTER ONE SEASON

‘Sharknado 3’ Was a hit on social media. Shame the ratings dropped a third 0.9 v ‘Nado 2’s 1.3.
Doesn’t matter too much as it will return for a fourth movie on SYFY.
Syfy’s Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No! chomped its way to two billion Twitter impressions – doubling the one billion impressions for 2014’s Sharknado 2: The Second One.

‘Rizz & Isles’ was renewed for 3 episodes less than the current 16 of this season but the number could rise as it’s TNT most watched show.

Oh & ‘Longmire’ was missed off the Renewals list. It was cancelled by A&E and picked up Netflix for season four so should appear on both lists. Thanks for the heads up on that one.

Phew, done for another week…
