The ratings were so low it often doesn’t make the top 100 daily cable shows. I mentioned a few days ago the game has changed with DVR & online viewing figuring in the mix. I was still surprised to see Lifetime call a re-up but it skews lower than the networks average age which would make it easier to sell to advertisers.
I’ll try to catch ‘Unreal’ as it features ‘Boston Legal’ alumni Constance Zimmer, and Craig Bierko.
Julie Bowen, ‘Modern Family’, Mark Valley, Body Of Proof & CSI, Betty White ‘Hot In Cleveland’ and James Spader ‘The Blacklist’ also came from ‘Boston Legal’ a classic dramedy.

A+E Studios-Produced Series and Network’s Youngest Drama Ever to Return Next Year
LOS ANGELES, CA (July 6, 2015) – Lifetime has renewed its critically acclaimed scripted series UnREAL (#UnREALTV) for a second season with a 10-episode order, it was announced today by Liz Gateley, Executive Vice President and Head of Programming for Lifetime. Produced by A+E Studios, UnREAL will return next year.
To date, the first three episodes of the provocative drama, which stars Shiri Appleby and Constance Zimmer, and gives a fictitious behind-the-scenes glimpse into the chaos surrounding the production of a dating competition program, are averaging more than 4.8 million views across all available platforms.
Airing on Mondays at 10:00pm ET/PT, UnREAL is Lifetime’s youngest scripted series ever, with a median age of 43.
